Hello and welcome back to the Gilfran. This is Stephanie Smith. I am your host, and today's podcast is A Vibe a Day Keeps the Doctor Away. You know, the old saying goes An apple a day keeps the doctor away. What if I told you there is no scientific proof? And yes, that is correct, there is no scientific proof other than an apple giving you one of your fruit servings per day. That's it. So that's the reason why I had to go out and I've been vibing for one full year and hey, I came up with a vibe a day keeps the doctor away. So not only does it work immediately for many health issues, but there is scientific proof. Yes, that's right, scientific proof.
Speaker 1:But before we start there, I just want to start. I'm going to read something today, because anybody who knows me knows I do a lot of inspirational reading stuff every day, and so today's book just brought me something that I thought I'd share. As we are going into the new year, why don't we have some kind of goals, and no better time than the present? So I read a book called Get what you Want by Tony Burroughs. Love this, and so this particular one is on page 288, renewing. To renew yourself, you need to take a break every so often. Everything we do repetitively for a long time causes us to grow stale. It doesn't matter whether it's at our job, eating the same food, driving the same car or in our relationships. If we stay at it without taking an occasional break, we are confronted by the law of diminishing returns. Really put, the law of diminishing returns says that you can eat one ice cream cone, and it's good. You can eat two ice cream cones, and they're still good. But if you go and eat seven or eight ice cream cones, you'll start to get pretty uncomfortable. You'll need to take a break from ice cream for a while and renew yourself so that you can come back and eat ice cream cones again in the future. This little analogy not only works for ice cream cones, but for everything we do. We become inefficient and dull if we do not work with this law consciously.
Speaker 1:I had a very good friend in Kona who worked side by side throughout the week with his wife. He always made a deliberate point to get away every second or third weekend to watch sports on TV with his buddies. Needless to say, his wife was not always happy about this, especially because he would just up and go whenever he felt that their relationship was becoming strained either becoming so close together all the time. But in the long run their relationship flourished year in and year out, because he had the wisdom to work in harmony with the law of diminishing returns and get away so that they would both have the time to recharge and come back together renewed. If you just think about the law of diminishing returns and you look at your body and you say nothing's working right now, I've tried a lot of things. So that's where I was a year ago when I was unhappy. I was 35 pounds overweight, I was depressed, I was laying in bed all the time, my body ached, I was on lots of medication and I was not happy. So last year, this time, I decided I had a girlfriend send me a little message and about vibing. And so at that time when I started vibing, I was vibing between the hips and yes, that is called a vagina vibrator. I'm not afraid to say it. Yes. And I did lose, right off the bat, within two months, ten pounds. I got my core kind of feeling good but it kind of stalemated. But you will definitely have to go back and check out the podcast on vagina vibrators vibing between the hips and prostate massagers vibing between the hip from it. So please go check those out because those will be coming in. The next I'm having every day is going to be a different type of vibe, so look for it.
Speaker 1:So what is whole body vibration? Okay, what is it? So what is it? It's a way of enhancing your health care. You can do it by itself, in which I do, or you can do it with all the other kinds of already working out stuff that you do yoga, exercise, the gym, treadmill, weights. It's a safe and effective way to improve balance, posture, falls, assistant, weight loss, increase bone density and speed, healing of sprains, strains and automobiles Ha, are you following? I'm just kidding. I love that show, that movie, but this line reminds me of that speeding heels. Healing of sprains, strains and fractures and other injuries.
Speaker 1:A vibration plate transmits oscillations to the entire body, and research has suggested that just 10 minutes of oscillating the muscles on a vibrating plate platform can provide similar benefits to an hour of running, making it an efficient and time-saving method for enhancing physical fitness. Vibration plates work by stimulating your muscles at a much higher rate than usual. Normally, your muscles contract and relax once or twice a second. But the multidirectional vibrations of a vibration plate transmit energy to your body, which stimulates your muscles. This stimulation forces muscles to contract and relax between 30 and 50 times per second. The vibration is like a wave repeated over and over again. Scientists quantify this wave through its frequency the number of waves per second, measured in hertz and its amplitude, which is the size of the wave. Just like a radio receiver captures radio waves based upon their amplitude AM, or frequency, fm. These two factors also determine the effect of vibration upon the body. Different tissues in the body will respond to different frequencies. So, for example, research has shown that muscles respond best to frequency between 30 and 50 hertz and the ideal frequency window for stimulating bone growth is 30 hertz.
Speaker 1:So there is I posted on my Reddit account a full list of all the different types of frequencies and how they affect your body, and it is called the RIF, r-i-f-e frequency list. So please check that out on my Reddit account. It's a very long list. You can also check it out on Google, but I do have it listed there.
Speaker 1:So what's the history of the vibration plates Like? Why are we talking about this? Well, let me just tell you there's a lot of history. This has exploded in the last several decades for their safety, convenience and effectiveness. But did you know it's one of the oldest methods of recovery, with its origin starting in ancient Greeks Greece, when warriors sustained injuries or needed a method to speed recovery, doctors would apply a more primitive version of the vibration effect as a technique to encourage healing. They didn't have batteries or electricity then, so they would achieve a similar stimulation by sawing pieces of wood or plucking large instruments. Another finding was riding on horseback or donkeys with speed recovery. Even though used in ancient Greece and Rome, it wasn't adopted until the 1800s. John Barclay described a case where vibration cured muscular spasm, and throughout the 19th century vibration was decided to reduce morbidity, support cardiovascular health and treat digestion and other nervous diseases. We go on to Gene Martin.
Speaker 1:Charcault's research began when he heard evidence of patients with Parkinson's disease and he noticed reduced pathology after long train rides or carriage rides. He used that kind of travel, the vibe, and he invented the vibration chair that would mimic that movement. His invention was used in 30-minute sessions on his Parkinson's patients and he introduced a level of their ability that allowed control over frequency and intensity and vibration direction. Charcault's was ahead of his time of his research and attention to personalization. He would tailor each session to each person's needs. Now, johannes Gustav Zander was a Swedish doctor who established what we now know as the modern gym. He had a space where he tested pieces of equipment on patients, including one of his inventions called the Zander Aparat F2, which stimulated a jog trot similar to the experience of riding a horse. He tested it out on his patients and noted that his device helped stimulate weight loss and contributed to muscle gain. In 1895, john Kellogg improved upon Zander's design and invented the first steam-powered whole-body vibration machines, and then he paved the way for modern machines with his chair and platform designs.
Speaker 1:Moving on, we've got to stay because there's history. So lots of research that hasn't been captured, but lots of history about it. Vibration in the 20th century. Everything was sidelined until then as a result of the World Wars in the 60s, and there was a renewed desire for health research and many scientists focused their efforts studying the effects of whole-body vibration. Professor Bierman developed rhythmic neuromuscular stimulation, otherwise known as RNS, which is the direct ancestor of many devices that are available on the market today. You've heard of things like PEN's units, or you know those wave units. Those are those kinds of things. Rns Vibration therapy was first fully embraced by the Russian in the 1970s and further refined by Vladimir Nazarov to give their Olympic team a competitive advantage by helping them speed up the recovery.
Speaker 1:Nazarov and his colleague Spivak were the first to make the connection that vibration increased and could stimulate bone regeneration. This knowledge and therapy was applied to Russian astronauts who experienced a reduction in bone density and this treatment helped them recover their strength following space travel. In 1995, russian astronaut Valery Polakev became the first man to spend more than 400 days in space thanks to the benefits of vibration therapy. So scientists have been from all over the world have been adopting the vibration therapy. Americans even used vibration therapy to prepare astronauts for landing on the moon. German scientists used to improve flexibility. Carmelo Bosco he's an Italian physiologist invented the modern day whole body vibration machine that became available for us in the homes or gyms of individuals for the very first time. So vibration therapy became more sophisticated and devices function by applying high frequency sinusoidal, sinusoidal vibrations in vertical side, alternating directions. They became widely used in competitive sports to help assist in warm-ups, cooldowns, reduction of delayed onset, muscle soreness and flexibility training.
Speaker 1:In the 1930s, weight loss belts were all the rage. It didn't really gain traction until the 1960s, when researchers began to study its effects on muscle strength and bone density. Remember all of our moms having those plates that had those belts and their bodies were shaking. This is it. This is what we're talking about. And they did it for weight loss, and then they went away. So vibration therapy has received a serious upgrade in the 21st century, with individual vibration devices hitting the market and are more accessible than ever to clinicians and consumers. Not only have they been able to put medical claims to dust, there are many refined designs to be more effective and hone in on the right frequency and intensities to achieve therapeutic benefits. And that, my friend, is a most consolidated history of the vibration plates. Go out there. I have all of this posted on my Reddit. You can see all the stuff, all the research I found, and so we've been doing this for many years.
Speaker 1:So why so? Why so? Why would someone use this? Well, it's effective. 10 minutes a day equals to one hour of running on the treadmill, and it can burn up to 700 calories and it can complement other exercise routines. It'll improve your muscle strength. You'll see improved cardiovascular respiratory function, strengthening of your leg muscles. Your core will get stronger, your back, your arms, you'll be more flexible. You'll have improved balance. This is a great one for rehabilitation, as it returns and enhances circulation. It reduces stress levels, weight loss and increases in bone density. It can strengthen your muscles, it aids in your sleep and it's so much more.
Speaker 1:You're gonna have to check out that full podcast, because I have a full podcast on when you know considerations, pros and cons for the vibration plate. But there are so many benefits and at the end of this podcast I'll give you the benefits that I have reached, because I started out telling you I was 35 pounds overweight and I only lost 10 pounds using the vibration between my hips, and so I've been vibing on a vibration plate since the beginning of September, when I got it from my mother in August, and now my whole family is vibing. So okay, and if you can look at, you know they go. What is it? Why would you do it? You know 10 minutes. Well, 10 minutes a day you can't do 10 minutes a day, 10 minutes.
Speaker 1:I had to find the easiest, quickest way to get blood flow going through my mom's body because she's not moving. She became extremely sedentary due to COVID and I needed to get the best bang for my buck. And this is what I found, and in the interim, I found out so many other benefits in my life, along with several other people around me and people I'm talking to have their lives have changed. So it was only fair for me, being that I am a healthcare consultant for the last 35 years, working for orthopedic and pain management doctors and being a patient myself. It was only. It was only it only felt right for me to share this information. So you will see, I'm not selling anything. There are no links to anything except for good vibrations. If you want to buy a vibrator between the hip vibrator, I do sell those and you can certainly go there because that's a great store.
Speaker 1:Okay, and remember the 10 minutes a day. Okay, it equals one hour of jogging. Well, first of all, I don't jog ever one hour. I don't know if you do, but I've never done it, and even when I did jog, I didn't do that. I mean, good Lord, 20 minutes was like, do I have to do any more than that? So I think 10 minutes is pretty easy and that's why I'm recommending it. Now here's where I'm gonna tell you my little disclosure, because I don't really want to get my vibration plates.
Speaker 1:It's your responsibility. Just like snowflakes, no two bodies are the same. Before you shake it up, consult a professional to ensure it's a good vibe for you. Your wellbeing is worth the extra shimmy to search, all right. So make sure you go out and search. It's your responsibility. So when would you do this, all right? Well, you could do it in the morning. It would certainly wake up the blood flow and loosens up your muscles. I do it in the morning. I tend to be stiff. I feel fabulous when I vibe in the morning. I do it after my first cup of coffee. I get on and vibe. It brings blood flow to my muscles. It reduces my tension or any anxiety or stress I may be feeling. I just it just is awesome. I just love it. It's been a game changer.
Speaker 1:The other one that you can do it is at night time and that has been a whole game changer for a lot of people. Please check out the full podcast on sleep and vibing, because I do a whole podcast on that and it's been a game changer to so many people and they're sleeping through the night they used to wake up at three o'clock in the morning, no more all done and not every night, but the majority, like 80% of the time 85. And you could check out some of the stories I have live people on. So please go and check out some of my podcasts with some of the people that are sharing their testimonials and go check out the full podcast on why working out before going to bed and what it does to you, because that's a whole podcast in itself. But that is key.
Speaker 1:So in the morning and at night, or just in the morning or just at night. So don't over do it please. 10 minutes goes, that's it. That's all you need to do. I had many people I've not many, but I've had a few people that have been that thought 10 minutes, well, that's good. Then I'm gonna do 30. No, and then they couldn't walk for like three days. So that's excessive, doesn't help. So please just stick with the regimen of 10 minutes a day, because that will help you all, right, okay? So how to do it? Well, there's plenty of YouTube videos. I'm gonna start doing live so you can check out my lives and go check all my stuff out. So I have YouTube videos. I'm gonna be on TikTok you can check out other people's lives I'm going to have.
Speaker 1:There are some cons, okay, and everyone needs to check out what is gonna work for them, because everyone has a different. You're a little snowflake, remember that. So I don't know all your health issues. So if you have a few super, super delicate snowflake then I would highly suggest that you start vibing. First of all, do all your research, but sit down, start putting your feet on it and just get the blood flow going. It's a little bit, goes a long way and you can just start a little bit and then, as you start to feel better and you've done your research and you've had other people assist you in finding the vibration plate that's gonna be the right for your physical body needs and your health needs, then you can be getting out there and vibing every day. You will see.
Speaker 1:I know that there's not enough research that tells you how much should you vibe. Now I'm telling you over vibing is gonna be, is not gonna be good. It's health-wise, it's not. I know people who've tried over vibing and it doesn't work. I know it can make you even sore if you over vibe. So if you're starting out, start out a minute a day, two minutes a day for the first week. Then move it up by one minute increments. Two minute increments. Slow is okay and no, there is no remedy out there. So I'm gonna coach you in doing what works for your body, as you are a sweet little snowflake and we need to make sure that we don't crumble our little snowflake, okay, by making them vibe, you know, and doing this excess, and then they're not well and they're gone. That little snowflake is no longer a snowflake.
Speaker 1:So please be sure that you go and listen to my full list of con. I'm gonna I'm just gonna list the ones that I found and, of course, you're gonna need to list go look for one specific to you. I'm gonna list all the pros as well. So go check that podcast out as well. That will be coming as well in the next few days. This is the first one.
Speaker 1:Now, the reason why I'm not selling anything? Because everyone has specific needs. Every, every plat vibration plate is geared towards frequency. They have different prices, anywhere from 50 to 10,000 to 15,000. Everyone has different price ranges, every. I want everyone to get out there and do that, regardless of the price of anything, because why can't we all be healthy and you know, when we are healthier we feel better and then we are better in our lives and to the people around us.
Speaker 1:So a vibe a day truly is scientifically proven from ancient times that this works. So I do hope that my call to action tell you go out there, find a vibration plate that works for you, like my podcast, send it to two to three people, get on a vibing kick together. Start your own little tribe of a vibe a day. Keeps the doctor away. I have my own tribe and my whole family vibes, and so all the adults in my family and we have all seen significant health improvements, and so we will be having sharing our story starting in January as a team of seven of us and we will be out there. So, and for mine, I'll tell you mine my story. I did it for my mom and found that it worked for me in all my health issues. I've been vibing for a full year in between the hips. For one full year I it didn't get progressively better on my health benefits until I started using the vibration plate, and I still do vibration between the hips because of the benefits I saw on my pelvic floor, inside of my whole gut area and so that is why I still vibrate between the hips and I do that three or four times a week and I vibrate on my vibration plate five times at least a week and then I do other things like yoga and so just other things, for no personal benefits.
Speaker 1:I started out at 145. I am now 115. I cheated between 110 and 115, so I just say 115 I have. This is the weight I was before I had children and I feel good. I, my body, my muscles, I can see, are getting stronger. My balance is amazing. I've increased energy, my muscles. I always wake up with lower back pain and I have little, very little back pain anymore and also I do other things. But but this has been like the game changer of like, really almost like massaging my muscles, if you will. I've noticed a huge increase in muscle strength and I might. People are even comment complimenting me on my legs how good my muscles look on my legs. So I know it's working.
Speaker 1:I'm not doing it for all those purposes. I was literally doing it because I wanted to get blood flow through my mom's body and I couldn't just tell her to do something and not do it myself. So that's the reason why I have been doing it. Now. My dad is my sister, her husband, my brother, his wife and we all will be sharing our stories in January. You'll. There are some podcasts out there about my sister and her vibing story and she is a multiple amputee, so she's got some really amazing stories about how it's improved for blood flow through all of her body. So, alright, it's been a game changer. I look forward to those who want to enjoy this new year with a new you, because you got to unleash your inner beast mode with our with this ultimate kickstart of a vibe a day keeps the doctor away. Vibration plates are $5.50. You can go get some. Second hand is what I've been told. You don't have to spend a lot, just start. All right, good luck. Like, follow for more, share this information and send me your stories.
